Skype for Web is not supported on all browsers but only in Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers like the Firefox, Safari, Opera and the Internet Explorer. Another thing to note is that the web-version works only on the desktop and the laptop and not on the mobile device. Apart from it, you find the layout, settings, and features of the web version similar to the Skype Windows 10 app.

Steps to use Skype for Web [ Skype Login on Web Browser ]
Using the web-based Skype is a pretty straightforward business. You first need to visit the website,https://www.skype.com/en/. On the website, there would be a tab, ‘sign in’ at the right top corner of the page. When you tap on it, a drop-down menu will appear that will give you three options. If you already have an existing account with Skype; you would click on ‘Use Skype online.’ You would also have the option of signing up a new account with Skype in case you do not have any existing account.
If you desire to use Skype for just texting; you need not proceed further and merely start using the Skype. But if you want to proceed further; then you need to give the web-Skype permission to use the camera and microphone of the computer.
Normally, you are shown a window where you grant permission. But this will come only when your browser settings have the mic and the camera, enabled for them. Once you grant the permission; you can use the Skype just like the downloaded version on the desktop or like the app on your Smartphone.
The browser would also ask your permission for notifications I.e. you would be notified of any call or message coming for Skype.
